Golden Library
Harriet Beck Taylor Batik Display Wall Storytime Check Out Children's Area

The Golden Library is something like a mirror of its small mountain hometown. In the library, "Table Mountain Jamboree," Harriet Peck Taylor's fanciful batik of animals reveling along Clear Creek, mirrors the landmark Table Mountain that dominates the Golden horizon. The library's unique compilation of railroad materials and the Ronzio collection of antique photos of Golden reflect the area's pioneer heritage. And the town's academic community is represented in the library by volunteers from the world-class Colorado School of Mines who come to help local children with their homework.

The library is a vibrant part of this town. Foreign students bring their families to absorb American culture. Retirees from the RV campground come to meet friends and check e-mail or read the paper. Families walk or ride bikes to the library along the Clear Creek trail. The library also reflects the outdoors culture of the community with many books about mountaineering and kayaking. A visitor can really get a feeling for this town by spending an hour or two in the Golden Library.
