Pikes Peak. Chances are you see it regularly, maybe even every day. But, how much do you know about the man it was named for: Zebulon Pike? Join us for a fascinating look at the life of one of the country’s most noted explorers with author Jared Orsi, who penned Citizen Explorer: The Life of Zebulon Pike.

This book provides the first modern biography of this soldier and explorer, who rivaled contemporaries Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. Written from an environmental perspective, rich in cultural and political context, Citizen Explorer is a state-of-the-art biography of a remarkable man.

Homebound Services Extended to Jeffco's Westminster Residents

by:
Bethany

Great news for Westminster residents who live in the Jeffco part of the city - we are partnering with the Westminster Public Library to extend homebound services to that part of the county. JCPL’s Homebound Service is for people who are unable to come to a library due to a permanent condition or temporary condition lasting longer than three months. Through this service, we arrange for the delivery of library materials via home delivery or by mail.

Westminster is interesting when it comes to library services:

  • The City of Westminster provides library services at westminsterlibrary.org and through two locations, the College Hill Library and the Irving Street Library.
  • Jefferson County residents living in Westminster are also served by JCPL via jeffcolibrary.org and two libraries located in nearby Arvada - Arvada and Standley Lake Libraries.
  • Adams County residents living in Westminster are also served by Rangeview Library District. Adams County residents would not qualify for JCPL’s homebound services.

Jefferson County residents living in Westminster may apply for JCPL’s Homebound Services online or call 303-275-6161. Homebound Library Service applications are also available at both Westminster Public Library locations.
