Election Day Countdown!

by:
Rebecca

Election day is Tuesday, November 4 -- just a week from today. If you haven't voted yet, now is the time to have your say in this important election, where Colorado will be deciding its next Governor; U.S. Senator; U.S. Representatives; Colorado Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Treasurer; all Colorado House seats; and many Colorado Senate seats; as well as several significant ballot issues, the retention of many of Colorado's judges, and a number of local issues.

There is still time to make your voice heard this election. For the first time, Colorado is allowing same-day registration -- meaning you can register to vote on election day. Also for the first time this year, all voting is by mail-in ballot. For polling locations, voter registration and more, check out our 2014 Election Guide.

Psst...I've Got a Whale of a Tip

by:
Bethany

I don't know about you, but I love, love, love our Foundation's Whale of a Used Book Sales. Each spring and fall, I literally spend hours browsing the sea of items. It's always fun to see what hidden gems I might find and to see the boatloads of stuff people are carting away.

If you've ever been to a sale, you know that the first day is always packed and who knows what might have been snagged before you got there. If only there was a way to know what was there before everyone else…

Well, I'm going to let you in on a little secret about how to get an exclusive look at what's available before the masses – become a member of the Friends of Jefferson County Public Library! Your membership to the Friends group guarantees you a spot at preview night before the sale begins. This is your opportunity to enjoy a stress-free night of shopping!

The Preview night takes place from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23. Join Friends now or you can join at the door. See you there!
